The Global Media and Internet Research Project report found that Australia has one of the highest concentrations of media in the developed world (especially so in regional Queensland), with many foreign players siphoning revenue from the sector and influencing editorial decisions.
The "mainstream" media no longer does its core job of holding power to account, and this is having a negative influence on our democracy.
